On the gloomiest of days, we love a cup of sunshine. On the sunniest of days, we also love a cup of sunshine. And this is exactly what that is. A cozy cup of goodness, that will have you glowing on the inside and out.
This particular beverage is part magic and part decadence. In addition to the warming and invigorating spices and adaptogenic, immune supporting and digestion loving benefits of the Turmeric Elixir Blend, this recipe is filled with good, healthy fats. Cacao butter along with homemade coconut-macadamia nut milk contain healthy fatty acids which are super nourishing to the skin, are a good source of energy and keep you feeling full and satisfied longer.
This drink is the perfect blend of decadence, nutrients and all the cozy feels.
- ½ cup (60 g) raw macadamia nuts, soaked in water for 3 hours and then rinsed & drained
- 2 cups water (ideally filtered)
- ½ cup full-fat coconut milk
*Recipe makes enough milk for 2 elixirs or leftovers for another use (we love this milk served with granola or to make any latte or cacao using JOYÀ Elixir Blends!). Recipe can be scaled up. Keep refrigerated and consume within 3-4 days.
- 1 tbsp (14 g) raw cacao butter, chopped
- ½ - 1 tsp honey*
- 1 tbsp JOYÀ Turmeric Elixir Blend
*Substitute with ½ - 1 pitted Medjool date, ½ - 1 tsp maple syrup or 1-2 tsp coconut sugar for vegan alternative, or monk fruit sweetener or stevia to taste for a keto version
To make milk: add the soaked and drained nuts and water to an upright blender and blend on high until smooth and fully blended, 60-80 seconds. Add coconut milk and blend for 20 seconds. Pour half of the milk into a jar for another use.
Pour half of the milk into a small saucepan and half into a jar for another use.
Add the cacao butter to the saucepan and heat the milk mixture over medium-high, stirring, until cacao butter has melted.
Add the milk mixture, sweetener of choice and JOYÀ Turmeric Elixir Blend back to the blender and blend on high until blended and frothy.
Serve immediately… enjoy!
